“When Gudny Rosa Ingimarsdottir first came to our apartment she told me about its silence, felt despite the noise coming from outside and the bewitching view of the city all around. In the Icelandic language, “hljóð” is a word that means both “sound” and “silence”, depending on the expression used. I would like to think that this is where Gudny Rosa’s art comes from. It needs silence in order to find and reflect upon itself, in order to be heard. Sensitive, precise and thrifty, she listens to the world with a combination of fear and wonder.
