Flóra is a cultural center focusing on the cultural heritage of Sigurhæðir house. Following Guðrún Runólfsdóttir and Matthías Jochumsson, who built the house in in 1903 and honored the value of a simple life, closer to nature and the arts. Artists and creative minds play a key role in rethinking society into this direction. Flóra culture house works with artists, designers, farmers and other, offering studios in the Sigurhæðir house, organising events and cultural projects. They are especially interested in textiles and texts.

Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir’s artworks will create a dialogue with the permanently changing exhibition of Sigurhæðir house.

 

In connection with the exhibition, Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir has created a book work with the title  – ” – . It is number 34 in Flóra culture house Sigurhæðir´s publication series Pastel editions. The book work consists mainly of photographs of material and objects at Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir´s studio, some also presented as art works in the exhibition at Sigurhæðir. References are made to the repeated use of material by Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir.
Pastel editions are a series of artists´ books from creatives working in different fields. Through various mediums – photography, meditations, collages, diaries, flash dramas, poetry and prose – we are presented with concise documentaries of experiences, perceptions and interpretations of an ambiguous and floating present. Each work in Pastel is published in 100 numbered copies, signed by the artist.
