Younes Baba-Ali’s Coffret de survie is part of Beeldenstroom, an exhibition curated by Eveline De Wilde, curator of the contemporary art collection at M.
“We live in an age where images are everywhere: from billboards and brochures to your social media feed, from statues to the design in your cappuccino. We see them everywhere, often without even giving them a second thought. Some images we consume casually and for free; for others, we take our time and even pay. But what does that mean for art and its audience?”
Since 2011, Cera has been a long-term partner of M. The cooperative owns a large collection of contemporary Belgian art, comprising approximately 600 works by more than 100 artists. It has provided this collection to M on long-term loan. The collection focuses primarily on emerging and underrepresented Belgian artists. M provides advice on acquisitions.
