‘Deep deep down, far far in (and out)’ is an exhibition that presents a selection of sixteen works by twelve artists, all belonging to the collection of the Fundação Leal Rios, arranged along two floors and four environments. Deepening the relationship between two different movements, one introspective and the other expansive, the notion of focus shares the stage with the idea of inclusiveness, and each work calls for both an individual and a collective reading. Along these rooms, we can find a correspondence between works that respond to the body and to a specific use of objects, among works that play with the elasticity and conformation of the gaze, and others that, in a more extensive scope, convoke references to landscape and to the planet. As such, in the context of a meditative nature, our perception wanders between the micro and the macro, in a register that alternates between a notion of contraction and an idea of expansion. Based on this web, the exhibition is the outline of a reflection on how we learn and conceptualize the individual and the world around it, working with space and with the perception of the viewer, who can be a participant or a simple observer.
