16th Curitiba International Biennale of Contemporary Art

Refrações, refractions: the phenomenon by which light, passing through a body, changes its course. It is the metaphor that runs through the entire exhibition. The works on view do not simply reflect the world: they pass through it and return it transformed, through the gazes of twelve women artists from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Morocco, Mauritius, Kenya, Tanzania, French Guiana, Palestine, Albania and Iran.

Artists : Tabita Rezaire, Fatima Mazmouz, Nirveda Alleck, Wanja Kimani, Rehema Chachage, Michèle Magema and Myriam Mihindou, alongside Rana Bishara, Doris Hakim, Shada Safadi, Genny Petrotta and Gelareh Soleimani.
