Inspired by the representation and transcription of natural phenomena and of the landscape in general, I am interested in all forms of studies of the natural environment (data recording, diagrams, maps, animations, probes etc.).
With my work I try to understand and systematise natural events represented in technical language and to give them a pictorial quality. It is about the processes of organisms, physical metamorphoses and technical constructions. I have long been fascinated by man’s attempt to tame natural processes and to schematise them through science and magic.
In my artistic work, I try to create, through images, that small moment when we cultivate the illusion of mastering, possessing and understanding. The desire to appropriate or to fix. The so-called temporary transitional phases between the “state of matter” are the starting point for my video, animation and drawing projects.
It is the unstable physical processes such as condensation or melting that, not giving definitive answers, provoke a state of alertness in the viewers. By introducing the viewer/observer into the state of uncertainty and disarray caused by the loss of control over natural phenomena, I consciously mobilise his perception. The relationship between man and his environment occupies an important place in my approach.
I try to bring out the emotions linked to the different manifestations and situations that result from the “circulation” in the current landscape.
It is not only about physical movements in space, but also about the reflection on the continuum of the landscape with its different forms. The image of reality is transformed in my work into patterns with various media such as video, painting or drawing.
