Gudny Rosa Ingimarsdottir’s artworks, in which she mixes paper, sewing, words and various fragments of her universe, take the form of stratigraphic or topographic assemblages. Each layer carries a sensory and symbolic value, each stitch that links the fragments together marks a memory or an emotion. The forms vacillate between the organic and the abstract, words and lines are intertwined.
Gudny Rosa Ingimarsdottir has been invited by numerous institutions in Iceland and in Europe, including solo shows at the National Gallery of Iceland in 2008, the Hafnarborg Art Center (IS) in 2019 and at Iselp in Brussels (BE) in 2020. She received the Gudmunda S. Kristinsdóttir Art Fund grant in 2013. Her works are included in the collection of the Frac Picardie of Amiens, as well as in the Centre national des arts plastiques, in Paris (FR), among others.
